For some reason, girls are scared of fur. I think it's the fear of looking like Cruella de Vil that keeps some from ever wearing it. I for one, love fur, be it a blush faux vest, or a full length vintage silver fox coat, I think it's timeless, and makes any look instantly glamorous. No doubt fur is an elegant component of evening wear- however that doesn't mean fur should only be reserved for the night life.
My grandmother was the most glamorous women I've known, and she topped off every sophisticated cold weather outfit with one from the time she was twenty on. We even kept a few of her furs at our house for when she would come visit from Palm Springs. My mother always talks of those cold Detroit winters growing up, when her mother would throw on a gorgeous fur and snow boots over her pajamas, and of course a swipe of lipstick, as a woman should never leave the house without it, and head out looking more fabulous than anyone else. I like to let that serve as inspiration during these freezing New England winter days we're facing this February.
